Three Paintings at Susan Powell’s show

Yeah, so I was running late (as usual) last week and didn’t get to snap photos of the final paintings in Susan’s show. She met me yesterday to drop them off so I could shoot them, and came back later in the evening to pick them up. Susan even offered to pick up some groceries! Very kind of her…

I got to see my friend Sadie Valerie’s work in person for the first time, it’s really excellent and the one Susan used for the announcement is fantastic. You can see Sadie’s work here.

Also, another friend, Vincent Giaranno did an amazing still life of a lobster. His site is here.

Here are the new pieces. Leave a comment if you like them:

    Beautiful, Rich!

I assume the frame is painted in the first one – how is it presented on the wall – in otherwords how is it framed?

That is certainly an unusual shell in the third painting -does it have a name? (In fact, wish you had included the Titles with these- perhaps they are listed within the site?)
Great work, as usual…good luck with the show!

Hi Marsha, and thanks! Hope all is well.

Yes, the frame is painted around the sides of the panel, which were gessoed. I’ve got it wired to the braces in the back and it hangs well on the wall. I wasn’t sure how it would look, but it seems to work. I didn’t pay much attention to the titles, I think the shell you refer to is a bursa bobo, but I’m not positive.
