Painting for a friend

I've been working on this for what seems like forever. A really long time. Finished it this morning though. Pretty quick and straightforward in the doing.
So what took me so long?
Once done I realized that for this particular friend I wanted the painting to be the best realization of the fullness of the possible that I could manage to paint. I had to put it aside, process some things and face up to areas I was lacking in.
This is the best I can do, for now.
